NYAA runs a number of Support Groups. These provide a safe and welcoming social space to meet other people living with or affected by HIV. Support groups are facilitated by staff and volunteers, and are designed to be safe and confidential spaces. This is only possible if everyone takes responsibility for this; people who attended are expected to abide by a code of conduct, details of which are described at the meeting. Refreshments are usually available, and travel costs may be reimbursed.
Throughout the year, a number of special social events are organised by NYAA. These are open to all people affected by HIV in North Yorkshire and York, together with their partners or carers.
Details of these events will be displayed in the “News” section of this website.
